Police in Kaduna have paraded five
suspects in connection with theft of 55 all-in-one HP Desktop computers from the e-library of the Kaduna state University (KASU).
The suspects include Aminu Shuaibu,Dauda Mohammed, Stephen Timon, Denis
Monday and Kamal Aminu.
The command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Usman said the acting registrar of the school reported the incident to the
Commissioner of Police on 21st December, 2016.
He said on 20 December, 2016 at about 2 in the morning, 20 all in one HP Desktop Computers were stolen at the university computer center.
Previously about 35 of the computers were stolen at the school’s elibrary, bringing
the total to 55 computers.
They are said to be worth N17.6 million.
Operatives of the State Intelligence
Bureau (SIB) Kaduna apprehended one Aminu Shuaibu a staff of the university with one of the computers.
Dauda Mohammed Umar (security Man on duty during the incident) was also arrested.
One student Stephen Timon is said to have conspired with one Nosa and three others to steal the computers.
Also one Dennis Monday a student of the University (KASU) and one Kamal Aminu
were arrested and 32 of the stolen
computers sold to them were recovered.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
