MMG Boss, Rick Ross, 76ers legend Julius "Dr. J." Erving, Eagles
players and others joined thousands of fans on Monday in protest of a
judge's jail sentence in Meek Mill's probation violation case in
Philadelphia.
Malcolm Jenkins, Torrey Smith, Jalen Mills and Wendell Smallwood were among the Phildelphia Eagles teammates in attendance.
While addressing the crowd, Meek's record label boss Rick Ross said:
Meek
has since started serving a 2 to 4-year prison sentence for violating
his probation. In addition to the rally, an online petition pushing for
his release now has over 350,000 signatures.
According to reports, Joseph Tacopina,
Mill's attorney, is filing a motion for Common Pleas Judge Genece
Brinkley to remove herself from the case, as well as an official
complaint with the judicial conduct board over the judge's sentence for
Mill.
