The federal government has commenced construction of a new 3000 capacity prison in Kano state.
This was announced by the minister of interior, Abdulrahman Dambazzau via his Twitter handle.
It will be recalled that sometime ago, vice president Yomi Osinbajo criticised the state of Nigerian prisons saying they turn humans into animals. Read story here
