By Agba Philip
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Calabar Area Office has held a graduation ceremony for over 100 persons from across the State that had completed their three months training program.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Executive Director ITF, Mr. Joseph Ari expressed optimism over the graduates, saying that the three months program was not easy, “but thank God for a successful completion of the skill acquisition program which he said has empowered the youths with sewing and welding machines.

Mr. Ari also urged them to go out there and do well for their destiny.

Also speaking at the event, a representative of the Department of State Security (DSS), Mr. Tanko Silas said “the training and empowerment is a step in the right direction, as the youths that have been trained and empowered have gained considerable skills to live a life of peace.”

He also advised the beneficiaries to see the empowerment as a challenge the Nation has placed on them to be the best and not waste the huge investment that has been put into them to go to waste.

Participants who spoke to our reporter expressed their happiness about the skills acquired and urged the Federal Government to assist them financially and otherwise.

The ceremony which held at the ITF Area Office in Calabar included the distribution of starter packs like sewing and welding machines to the trainees.
