Ntufam John Etim has emerged Chairman Elect of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Cross River State Chapter.
Ntufam Etim emerged winning 56 votes against his opponent Dr. Achigbe Matthew who had 36 votes out of the 93 accredited votes casted with one invalid vote.
Addressing newsmen after his victory, Ntufam John gave Glory to God, lauded all who voted him and pledged to build a formidable APC in the State.
“I thank God that there is no fighting or killing today unlike other States, I thank the National Working Committee of APC, I appreciate and commend the effort of the National Executive Committee of APC headed by Chief John Oyegun.”
He further added that “I commend and appreciate the entire members of the Cross River State APC for the wisdom, for the patience to bear with Cross River State APC; this tussle has lasted for close to two years running and I really want to appreciate the humility of the leader of our party in Cross River State, Pastor Uguru Usani.” He said.
Concluding that, “Thank God there was no killing as compared to other states because in tussle like this you see killings, you see kidnappings and all what not, and I believe this is because of the intervention of God. My priority as a Chairman has to do with building a united, formidable, reliable, rugged, pragmatic party that will stand the test of time to win in the forthcoming election.”
