Ben Ayade has announced the appointment of about 300 new aides increasing his
already record breaking number of appointees numbering over 4000.
The news, however, is Mr.
Ayade’s appointment of a management team for the cable car linking the bottom
hill and the uphill ranch of the Obudu mountain resort which ceased functioning
since 2014.
This is despite, his appointment
of Mr. Ability Akwaji as the Special Adviser in charge of the Ranch.
Mr. Akwaji, however was recently chased
away by staff of the resort in late November 2017.
Also, Mr. Ayade appointed almost
100 people into different committees to manage the Ikom township stadium in
fulfillment of his promise made when
he toured projects in the central and northern senatorial
district where he also said the local government will get a new lodge.
He is said to have rejected the
quality of work done even though he praised it in public and directed political
stakeholders to nominate appointees.
Also, Mr. Ayade appointed a
social media control team which it is unclear what their role is as at press
time and is despite having social media aides already.
There are several others too
with management teams in place but Mr. Ayade appointed others including a
management team for the Calabar International Convention Center (CICC), the
state owned broadcasting corporation, Calabar Pharmaceutical among others.
