The award winning fashion designer is under fire for using alot more white models in her latest Youtube advert.
While some agree with the concept of diversity and trying to reach out to the international market, many simply tag the effort as 'racist' and some are even calling for the boycott of the brand.
These clothes are worn mostly by blacks so why are white models modeling them?

I don’t see the problem with Deola Sagoe’s ad.
1. She said Africa to the world, meaning not necessarily for Nigerians because Nigerians can get it cheaper. It’s for people that buy African broom $500 as art. The scenery is even foreign.
2. It is based on consumer insight.
In Deola Sagoe’s ad there is a Black girl, a Caucasian, a Mongoloid and Australoid what again do we want? You can’t attack her morals and request for white Models. The theme is “Nigeria to the world” not “For Nigerians”. It’s even a Yoruba theme song pic.twitter.com/PcfAQSS3fN
Because Gucci doesn't necessarily go out to attract black wearers. They day they do, they will use blacks. How hard is that to understand?
Plus, what are you even saying? I have seen plenty Gucci ads in old magazines with only black models used in them.
