ASOS has earned a seal of approval from social media users after it used a plus-sized model for its 2018 swimwear line.
In 2017, the retailer used unaltered images for their swimwear campaign. Then, this year, they featured plus-size model Vivian Eyo-Ephraim in a bikini for their swimwear campaign. This has led to a surge of positive responses from Twitter users who feel that they can relate with the model who has a more realistic body type.
In the photo, Vivian is seen looking gorgeous in a yellow bikini. Many feel the decision to cast Vivian is an important step towards increased representation in fashion...
So many social media users have been sharing Vivian's photo and leaving positive comments.
"This is the first actual plus-sized model I’ve ever seen," one user tweeted.
Another Twitter user wrote: "I think this is the first time I have ever looked at a bikini model and thought 'maybe I could wear one too'."
Vivian did not expect the overwhelming reaction to her video and has taken to social media to thank everyone.
She wrote: "Thank you ALLLL so much for the messages, the likes, the comments, the retweets, everything!!! I’m truly appreciative, shocked, excited & cannot wait to represent more women & make everyone even more proud."
