Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana has reacted to the removal of the ExecutivebDirector of the Financial Reporting Council of
Nigeria (FRCN), Jim Obazee.
Falana described the removal as “illegal, unconstitutional, and irresponsible”, saying that
Obazee was only implementing a law that was assented to by the Federal Government.
He also criticized churches for registering with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as NGO’s
while they use funds from the public to set up businesses (schools, leasing of private jets, etc).
He called on religious bodies to “tidy up” and “discipline” themselves and not wait for the government to regulate their activities.
