See.. Ex-defender reacts to Roberto Firmino’s display in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw at Watford

Matthew Upson singled out Roberto Firmino for special praise after the Brazilian sparkled in Liverpool’s thrilling 3-3 draw at Watford in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
The Reds twice fell behind in the first half and went in at the break 2-1 down but managed to fight back in the second half, only for Miguel Britos to score a last-minute equaliser deep into stoppage time.
Liverpool were without Philippe Coutinho due to a back injury, as the speculation about the Brazilian playmaker’s future continues.
However, the Merseyside outfit still managed to claim a point without their talisman, and former Brighton defender Upson was very impressed by what he saw from Firmino on Saturday, as the Brazilian played a key role in setting up new signing Mohamed Salah for Liverpool’s third goal.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live , Upson said: “It was great, unselfish centre-forward play from Firmino [for Liverpool’s third goal], who was through on his own in a good position but expertly chipped it across for Salah to finish.”
Sadio Mane pulled Liverpool level in the 29th minute at Vicarage Road after Stefano Okaka had fired Watford into an early lead.
Watford went ahead again when Abdoulaye Doucoure fired home to make it 2-1 at the break.
Liverpool fought back once again thanks to Firmino’s penalty and Salah’s first Premier League goal for his new club following his transfer from Roma in the summer.
But Watford had the final say when Britos netted in the 94th minute.
Liverpool will now turn their attentions towards their crucial Champions League play-off clash against Hoffenheim on Tuesday night.
