As human beings created by God, we are seen as an evidence of the power of His glory. Genesis 1 vs. 26and 27 confirms this. “ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over thefowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over everycreeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
The creation of man in the image of God is the first sign of the love of God for us all. He not only created man, he gave man dominion over all other things that he had created. Can you be so trusting? If we are honest, the answer is no but what God has demonstrated by giving us dominion over all other creatures is his unqualified love .
Have you also demonstrated unqualified love for God? How much love do you show to fellow men?
The journey of life for any man is filled with thorns. It’s no smooth ride. Challenges are part of life but our determination to overcome challenges and the method we use distinguishes the Christian from others.
For instance, it is difficult if not impossible to find any human being who has never been ill at any point in life. I mean from birth to adult hood. Some get treated and recover; some have to cope with such medical challenges for life. Let’s see what Jesus said about the sickness of Lazarus of Bethany in John 11 verses 1-4. Our emphasis is on verse 4 “ When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby”.
Sometimes, that challenge you are going through is for the glory of God to manifest in your life. As human beings no one likes to have a challenge.
Let me share with you the testimony of a lady. This lady who had been married for over 10 years without children went from one doctor to another. In the process, she had surgery and the doctors removed one of her fallopian tubes which was declared blocked. So, the woman carried in her one fallopian tube. To you and I and indeed medical doctors, that could further limit her chances of child bearing.
Like any other woman she was worried but she and her husband held on to God.
To the glory of God, with one fallopian tube today, she is a mother of twins and a set of triplets.
We also can ask that the glory of God be seen in our lives. When his glory is seen in our lives, every challenge will take a flight. You will enjoy the peace of the Lord.
The conversation of God and Moses as recorded in Exodus 33 cvs. 18-19, tells us what happens when we see the glory of God.
Verses 18 and 19 “ And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy”.
When we ask God to show us his glory, we are asking him to manifest his power in our lives. We are saying that he should reveal himself to us.
However, it is not everyone that is qualified to see the glory of God.
Romans 3 vs. 23, “ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”.
This implies that we need to repent for the glory of God to manifest in our lives.
Even as a Pastor, you may have committed some sins unconsciously.
No wonder John 1 vs. 8-9 states, “ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
Verse 10 of the same chapter states, “ If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us”. Certainly, God is not a liar. It is human beings that tell liars. The Bible implies that when his word is in us, we would live according to his word and have no reason to tell lies. His glory will also be seen in our lives.
Let’s consider the testimony of a single lady- This lady, advanced in age is single. She got so tired of living with her parents and decided to stay with her friend who happened to be a single mother. The friend had a young baby and since she was jobless, she became a nanny for the baby. One afternoon, her Pastor called her. She broke down threatening to commit suicide that she was tired of life. Of course the Pastor advised her to hold on to God. She took his piece of advice and continued with her regular worship.
One evening, she went for one of those church programmes that people hardly find time to attend because of work schedule, there God linked her up with a bachelor Pastor. One thing led to another and before long they got married and she relocated to Abuja. Within a year, she had a baby.
Her Pastor who was ona visit to Abuja called her to say hello. He didn’t know she had a baby. The lady ‘s voice was filled with joy as she told her Pastor that day was the day for the naming of her baby.
The man decided to stop by. According to him, the lady who spoke was in tears the last time they spoke was filled with joy. Many women flocked around her asking how they could be of help. The glory of God had manifested in her life.
Brethren, what is that situation you can’t handle? Ask God to manifest his glory in your life. When his glory manifests, joy will replace sorrow, laughter will replace tears. Only be ready to be obedient and live a righteous life.
Make up your mind to serve him and put your total trust in him. Be assured that though human beings may disappoint, God does not disappoint.
He does things at his own appointed time.
For the lady mentioned earlier, she thought God had forgotten her but by the time God showed up, her life changed.
Your story too can change if you fully trust the Lord.
Don’t ever get tired of praying. Make sure you don’t get depressed. If Hannah got depressed, she would never have been a mother.
To see the glory of God, prayer is the key. You must create time to talk to God. Pour out your heart to him and he will shower you with his blessings. This season, the glory of God will manifest in your life in Jesus name.
I’ll share with you these prayer points: ‘everything in my life that hinders the manifestation of your glory, Father deal with it today”.
Also, “ Father, I have suffered enough, show me your glory”.When the glory of God manifests in your life, every form of darkness must give way. Everything that has made your joy incomplete will give way in the name of Jesus.
Set your mind to see the glory of God and your joy will be full.
Wishing you a fruitful week ahead.
